I am currently in everyone-is-getting-married season which brings BACHELORETTE TRIPS! A few weeks ago I spent 2 days in Birmingham, AL with 10 precious girls and we had the absolute best time. Birmingham is such a quaint city with so much fun to offer. If you haven’t been or haven’t considered Birmingham to be a future destination, I’m here to convince you otherwise!

Brunch at Big Bad Breakfast
This is a chain, but the atmosphere and food did not reflect that at all. It was a bustling place in the cutest part of town called Homewood. I had a fresh squeezed mimosa and the Yard Work skillet that tasted like a garden just exploded in your mouth. So good!
Dinner at Blaze Pizza
This was an impromptu decision. We had reservations at The Fish Market, but upon arrival they were unable to seat us for over an hour. Blaze was essentially the pizza equivalent of a Subway. You build your own pizza before they put it into a fired oven. I had their signature Red Vine. Cheesy, basil, red sauce – Y U M. Little saucy, but yummy.
Lunch at Corbin Farms Winery
I cannot say enough about this place! This is a locally owned and operated vineyard with alllll the wine. We had a ball. They had a mariachi band as entertainment to celebrate Cinco de Mayo who played a karaoke version of Feliz Navidad (per the request of the bride). I shared the Antipasta Platter with another girl and it was fabulous. We decided to do the wine tasting menu and each tried 10 different wines of our choice. I’m a sweet whites kind of girl so I stuck to that pretty closely, HOWEVER, I tried a sweet, blackberry, red wine. Y’all. It was to die for. I left with a bottle, but it should have been 2! My recommendation, just go!!
Dinner at Cocina Superior
To continue the Cinco de Mayo celebration, we of course had to have at least one Mexican restaurant in the mix! This place was so cute. We sat outside on the patio right next to another table who was celebrating just as much as we were making for the best atmosphere! Unfortunately, I wasn’t feeling great so I didn’t order any fun food or drinks, but from the looks of the rest of the group’s orders everything was beautiful and smelled amazing!

Muchacho mostly because it tasted the least beer-y. Haha! Even if you’re not a drinker, this place is as cute as can be.
This industrial theme bar is located in downtown Birmingham and was by far one of our favorite spots. It’s dimly lit and accentuates a very chill, if you will, atmosphere. We sat in a corner and laughed the night away. The drinks average $10 a piece so sip and savor slowly if you’re trying to maintain a budget (like ya girl!!).
Atop The Redmont is a bar with a tiny inside area, but a large and beautiful patio! We didn’t stay too long here as the weather was a bit questionable and the seating was limited. I would still recommend this place if for nothing else but the view! I wish we could have seen it during the day because it was gorgeous!
Vulcan Tower is the largest cast-iron statue in the world! You can climb the steps or take the elevator to the top of this 56 foot statue and walk out on the observation deck. We did not visit the museum, but we did go to the top! This was the perfect post-brunch activity! The weather was warm and the sun was shining making for a beautiful observatory experience!
This BYOW (Bring Your Own Wine) paint class was an absolute blast! It was lead by an instructor who kept us laughing and made sure we didn’t completely bomb this painting. We took our time sipping our wine so much that our painting looked like a Picasso by the time we were done! Haha. I highly recommend looking for one of these classes locally, it will be so worth it!

We booked a downtown apartment through AirBnB that turned out to be perfect for us! It slept 8 people comfortably, but with air mattresses we squeezed in 12! Here are a few other options that I found that are so cute!
Southern Style Home (this is one is FREAKING cute) Sleeps 8
Mid-Century Home – Sleeps 6

I absolutely love to travel. There is something to exciting about new cities, cute places to stay, finding patios for coffee or wine, discovering new brunch spots, the list could just go on! Birmingham met all of these marks to a tee. We so enjoyed our quick weekend trip and think that it did our precious Bride justice! She is kind, spontaneous, laid back, fun, and absolutely hilarious. Birmingham was the perfect place for her and I know that you would love it just as much as we did!
I went back to Birmingham this week and would like to add the Back Forty Brewery to the list of fun places to visit and drink! It was very similar to the previously mentioned Good People Brewery: rustic, open, indoor/outdoor, CUTE. Not to mention, the two breweries are a quick 7 minute drive apart making it super easy to visit both in one trip!
I saw this dress on a friend recently and absolutely HAD to have it. On Amazon it’s advertised as a formal wear or bridesmaid dress and I’m here to tell you it is not. It’s very much a casual sun dress that even with gaudy jewels could probably not be worn as a formal gown. I’ve added it to my Amazon shop page under Summer Styles. I’m in a small and it was a little loose, but I would say it runs pretty true to size.
